Ruth Lumax
|
From wondering to leading and always wondering, Ruth enters the Godly Play circle as practitioner (2006), Trainer (2011), Trainer of Trainers (2024) and someone who is passionate about Spiritual well-being. Ruth is committed to building the circle, both on-line and in person, strong enough to do the work we need to do! You’re invited to come close to God through wondering, silence and playful story.
After 30 years of pastoral ministry, Ruth is taking a gap year and listening for the Good Shepherd’s call to another adventure. So far it sounds a lot like Godly Play! Ruth is also an accredited Spiritual Director, enthusiastic lake kayaker and photographer, who dabbles in music and tries to stay fit enough to outrun toddlers. Ruth (they/Them) and her spouse live on and tend some of the traditional lands of the Nēhiyawēwin, the people of the Sundance Culture, in the Battle River watershed of Metis Region 4 and Treaty 6 (AB). |

Mary first experienced Godly Play in 2005 and was certified as a Godly Play trainer in 2008. She is committed to supporting sacred and brave space for people of all ages to wonder, engage, and deepen in their relationship with God.
With over fifteen years of supporting young leaders in their work in day camp ministry and congregational leaders in First Third Ministry (those in the first third of life), Mary now serves as Vancouver School of Theology’s Director of Theological Field Education. Mary (she/her) is grateful to live on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded land of the Semiahmoo, sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), and Kwantlen peoples. She loves to cook and share her successes (and failures) with her husband, young adult daughters, and her eldest daughter’s fiancé. |
There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.
