Hybrid Core Training takes place for three hours each on four Saturdays via Zoom and culminating in an evening and a full day training, onsite in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
The training will cover all the content as an in-person training: development and practice of all story genres - Sacred, Parable, Liturgical Action with the fourth genre, silence, woven throughout. There are also plenaries on creating sacred space, supporting the community of children, children’s spirituality, the Godly Play environment and getting started.
Reading, reflecting and practicing stories between sessions is also part of the work.
We use an action/reflection model with some leader presentations and a lot of interaction.
All learning will take place in a prayerful and playful atmosphere with creative and experienced Godly Play trainers.

Sessions 1 & 2 Online Sacred Stories Saturday, April 26 and Saturday, May 10 9am to 12:00noon PDT Sessions 3 & 4 Online Parables Saturday, May 24 and Saturday, June 7 9am to 12:00noon PDT *Sessions 5 & 6 Onsite Liturgical Action Stories Pacific Spirit United Church Tuesday, August 12 5:30pm to 8:30pm PDT - dinner and full Godly Play Session Wednesday, August 13 9am to 3:30pm PDT * For those who can not attend Sessions 5 & 6 onsite in Vancouver we have the following dates to complete the training online: Saturday, October 4 and Saturday, October 18 9:00am to 12:00pm PDT |
Cost:
$350 CDN (if you register for all sessions). This includes all background information, resources, and information to tell the stories, plus in person, snacks, supper and lunch. Certificates of Participation are available for those who complete all the sessions. Space is limited to 12 people. Priority will be given for participants who register for the full training. For those unable to attend the in-person day, and still wishing to complete the training, there will be two online sessions in fall of 2025. Refunds are given for a cancellation prior to

Between Sessions:
Each participant will work with a small group including a trainer, outside of the scheduled training to prepare and tell a story by heart. In preparation for each session, there will also be reading and questions for reflection and discussion.
